Step-by-Step Guide for Completing the E-Passport Form
  1. An online application for an e-passport can be completed.
  2. In the case of an e-passport application, there will be no need for document attestation.
  3. The e-passport form will not require the attestation of an image or its attachment.
  4. The application form must be completed in accordance with the National Identity Card (NID) or the English-language Birth Registration Certificate (BRC).
  5. If a minor applicant (those under the age of 18) does not have a National Identity Card (NID), their parent’s National Identity Card (NID) number must be provided.
  1. For each of the following ages, a National Identity Card (NID) or Online Birth Registration Certificate (BRC English Version) to be submitted:
    (A) If under the age of 18, an online birth certificate (BRC English Version).
    (b) If you are between the ages of 18 and 20, you must have a national identity card or an online birth registration certificate.
    (c) A National Identity Card (NID) is required if you are over 20 years old. However, if an application comes from the Bangladeshi mission overseas, the online birth registration certificate (BRC English Version) would be accepted.

  2. An order from the Department of Security Services, Ministry of Home Affairs, must be submitted with the passport application in cases of adoption or guardianship.
  3. At the current address, the application should be delivered to the relevant Departmental Passport and Visa Office, Regional Passport Office, or Bangladesh Mission Abroad.
  4. The e-passport will be valid for 05 years and 48 pages for all applications made by anyone under the age of 18 and older than 65.
  5. Technical certificates that are pertinent should be submitted or attached (e.g., doctor, engineer, driver, etc.).
  6. As necessary, relevant GO, NOC, certificates, retirement leave orders, and pension books should be submitted to the website of the issuing authority.
  1. If relevant, a marriage certificate or nikahnama as well as a talaqnama in the event of a divorce should be submitted.
  2. In addition to the fees for applications within the nation, any additional fees, including VAT at the required rate, must be paid. Additionally, if an application is made abroad, the government-mandated fee must be paid.
  3. Applications for diplomatic passports must be filed to the Directorate of Immigration and Passports’ Head Office or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Consular and Welfare Wing.
  4. Bangladesh’s contact address should be listed in the permanent address column when requesting a new passport from a foreign consulate.
  1. A police clearance certificate must be obtained on one’s own initiative and presented with an urgent passport application (new issue).
  2. (a) Provided all other information is accurate, the passport will be issued within 2 working days if police clearance is submitted with the application for an emergency passport while still inside the nation.
    If the application for an emergency passport is submitted inside the nation and accompanied by a police clearance, the passport will be issued within 7 working days, if all other information is accurate.
    Provided that all other information is accurate, a standard passport will be issued within 15 working days if a police clearance is submitted with the application.
  1. At the time of application, an original National Identity Card (NID), an online Birth Registration Certificate (BRC English Version), and any necessary technical certificates, as well as a Government Order (GO) or No Objection (NOC), should be shown.

  4. If a candidate is applying for a position and is younger than six years old, a 3R (3R Size) size (lab print gray backdrop) photograph must be presented.
