The passport fees for Bangladesh in 2023.
In Bangladesh, regular passports and Machine Readable Passports (MRPs) are no longer being issued. Instead, Bangladeshi citizens can only obtain or renew their passports as e-passports. However, Bangladeshi expatriates can choose to apply for the re-issuance of their current MRP or apply for a new e-passport if they don’t have one. Obtaining a new e-passport or renewing an existing one costs the same. However, the fee for issuance or renewal of an e-passport varies depending on factors such as the number of pages, validity period, and the type of services needed.
Please take note that the choice of service you select could impact the time it takes for your passport to be delivered. Here are the specific details:
- Regular delivery: Your passport will be delivered within 15 working days or 21 days from the date of biometric enrollment.
- Express delivery: Your passport will be delivered within 7 working days or 10 days from the date of biometric enrollment.
- Super express delivery: Your passport will be delivered within 2 working days from the date of biometric enrollment.
The fees for obtaining an e-passport within Bangladesh, including a 15% VAT charge, are as follows.
An E-passport with 48 pages and a validity of 5 years is available for the following delivery options:
- Regular delivery: BDT 4,025
- Express delivery: BDT 6,325
- Super express delivery: BDT 8,625
An e-passport that contains 48 pages and has a validity of 10 years.
- The cost for regular delivery is BDT 5,750.
- The cost for express delivery is BDT 8,050.
- The cost for super express delivery is BDT 10,350.
The E-passport has a total of 64 pages and is valid for a period of 5 years.
